Zach Richardson is taking the
recruiting process in stride, trying not to put too much pressure on himself
to draw that initial scholarship offer.
"I'm just trying to do my best to help the team
win," he said. "I'm keeping all my options open, and we'll see what happens.
I know there will be some opportunities if I have a good year."
Through four games, Lassiter is 3-1. Richardson
(6-5, 205, 4.9), in his first year as a starting quarterback, has passed for
550 yards with four touchdowns.
"I've had Georgia and Tennessee asking for some game
film," he said. "They've been keeping in touch with me. So has Auburn,
Middle Tennessee and Appalachian State."
Richardson, one of the South's rising
pro-style quarterbacks, has attended games at Auburn (versus
Western Carolina) and Tennessee (versus Florida) this season. He plans more
trips in the near future, but hasn't decided where they'll come yet.
"The Tennessee game was great," he said. "We got
real wet that day, but it was fun. I've never experienced anything so loud
before. The crowd was awesome, and the people were real nice there. I really
enjoyed it."
