Georgia QB/ATH on the rise

Jonesboro, Ga., has an electric dual-threat quarterback in

Kenyari Addison, but he's more than likely going to be playing another
position on the collegiate level.
Addison (5-9, 185, 4.6) passed for 1,600 yards and 20
touchdowns while rushing for more than 400 yards as a junior. It's his
athleticism and instincts, however, that scouts admire.
"It really doesn't matter to me which position I'm being
recruited to play," he said. "If I could play quarterback somewhere, that would
be great, but if it's wide receiver or DB, that's fine too. I just want to be
somewhere I can help the team and play the most."
Thus far, he's received the most interest from Virginia,
Florida, Memphis and Georgia Southern. He also lists Georgia in his personal top
five, but has no official offers to date.
"I feel like I performed real well in the Nike combine
at Athens," he said. "I'm starting to get a lot more attention now."
Addison talked about each of his favorites:
"With Virginia, they've really been showing me a lot of
attention, and I like that. They have a real nice offense, they're in a good
conference and they get a lot of TV coverage.
"With Florida, that's just a big-time program competing
for championships. If you're good enough to play there, you will be seen.
"With Mississippi State, that's a real nice atmosphere
for football. It's a small town, but I like it. My grandmother's house is near
the campus. I used to stay there in the summer.
"I like Georgia Southern a lot because it's close to
home and they've really shown some interest in me playing quarterback. Plus,
they run the option offense. I love running the ball at quarterback.
"Georgia is a school a lot of people around here talk
about. There are some big Georgia fans and they keep me pumped up about the
Bulldogs. It's a home state school with great tradition."
What will factor into his final decision?
"A good education first," he said. "My mom will make
certain of that. Then a a good overall football program with a nice weight
program and work habits. Basically, somewhere that me and my mom feels
comfortable with."
