Georgia OL likes Cuse, cools on Wake

For a while, 2013 2-star Tucker (Ga.) offensive lineman Alexander Hayes was mulling between Wake Forest and Syracuse, but thanks to a recent rash of commits to the Demon Deacons, the Orange have surged into the lead.
"I really like their coaching staff," Hayes said of Syracuse. "Me and [offensive line] Coach Greg Adkins have a pretty good relationship and I can't wait to get up there and see how the campus is."

Hayes has backed off from Wake, partially because of the number offensive lineman already on the roster and in the current class.
"They got three linemen commits right in a row," he said. "I would be No. 6 in their calls and then there'd be 14 of us in the program meaning at least a few would have to redshirt."
His goal is to play as a freshman and it's looking more and more like Syracuse might be the place that gives Hayes the best opportunity.
"I think I have the body type and skill level to play early," he said. "I like the way Syracuse runs a pro-style offense. I think I can get in there and block and get off to a great start."
Hayes has set an official visit to Syracuse for late January and he plans to make his decision shortly after the trip.
"That will be the last trip I make," he said. "I'm hoping to schedule a few more before that but when I leave Syracuse I'll make a decision and call all the coaches and let them know."
