Georgia OL holds two offers

Recruiting has picked up for Mount Airy (Ga.) Habersham Central offensive guard prospect Gabe Irby. The 6-foot-3, 314-pounder currently holds two scholarship offers and is getting attention from several other schools, including one from the Southeastern Conference and one from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
"Recruiting is going pretty good," Irby said. "I have offers from Ball State and Middle Tennessee State."

Irby spoke about his interest in the Cardinals.
"I know it's in Indiana about 45 minutes from where my brother lives," Irby said.
He also recognizes the success that the Blue Raiders had on the field last season. Under first-year head coach Rick Stockstill, Middle Tennessee State tied for the Sun Belt Conference championship and received a berth in the Motor City Bowl.
"All I've been hearing about Middle Tennessee State is that they are a program on the rise," Irby said.
Maryland sent an assistant coach to Habersham to watch Irby practice.
"The coach from Maryland came by the school and they seem real close to giving me an offer. They have a good program," he said, "They had about eight wins last year and the coach is known as an offensive genius."
Vanderbilt also has been in touch. Irby believes that they are closing in on an offer.
"I like the school," Irby said. "I like how you can get a real good education there."
Irby says he will attend prospect camp at Georgia for sure this summer and potentially will attend the Commodores prospect camp.
