Georgia offer could come soon for 2018 3-star DE Jamarcus Chatman

The Latest: After a season that saw him help his team to a state championship, three-star Rome, Ga. defensive end Jamarcus Chatman turned in an excellent performance in the Georgia Junior Bowl, a showing that has already lead to an uptick in interest. With several new schools in the mix, Rivals.com caught with Chatman to get the latest on his recruitment.

In His Words: "After the game Coach Rocker hit me up on Twitter after the (Rising Seniors) game and told me to call him. I talked to Kirby Smart, too, it was crazy. I was surprised he asked what would I wanna play and I said d-tackle and he said he thinks I can play more than just d-tackle. I'm going to go up there for a visit the weekend after the dead period is over and I think they might offer then. Out of all the SEC schools they have showed a lot of love. An offer would mean a lot and would be a honor to play for Georgia my home state school. And it would show that my work is finally paying off."

Rivals Reaction: Chatman has a number of early offers, including BYU and Colorado State. But after his strong close to the year, it wouldn't be surprising to see several other programs jump into the mix. Chatman is already teammates with 2018 Georgia commit Adam Anderson and an offer from the Dawgs might move them to the front of the line for Chatman's services as well.
