Georgia linebackers stock rising

Linebacker Brett Thomason hasn't received the attention some of the other top prospects from the Peach state have, but college coaches are definitely taking notice. He's got a non-stop motor and may earn some offers.
"In over 30 years of coaching Brett is one of the hardest working players I've had," said Dalton, Georgia coach Ronnie McClurg. "He's receiving interest from a lot of good programs like Florida State, Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky and Oklahoma State."

Thomason is a 6-foot-1, 220-pound senior linebacker who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds. He bench presses 360 pounds and also squats 470.
"I went to camps at Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida and Florida State this summer," said Thomason. "I also visited North Carolina and Duke. I enjoyed all those trips, but I'm still waiting on offers. Hopefully some will come in soon."
What does Thomason like about his leaders?
"I've been going to Tennessee games for years, so I'm very familiar with them. Florida State has a great winning tradition and I really like their linebackers coach Kevin Steele. I like Florida's linebacker coach, Bill Miller. Kentucky has an entirely new staff and they're very enthusiastic. I like Oklahoma State because I have a great respect for the Big XII.
"The biggest factors in my decision will be a chance to win, a stable coaching staff, and the overall quality of the academics."
As a junior Thomason was an all-area selection. He's also a member of the National Honor Society, and is an excellent student.
