Georgia leads for elite in-state LB

Carrollton (Ga.) linebacker Kevin Swint is only two months into his sophomore year and he has already been offered by many of the who's who of college football.

Alabama has offered. Florida has offered. LSU has offered. Miami has offered. Michigan has offered. Ohio State has offered. Many others have too, but it is a school in his home state that has offered that has the early lead for one of the best in the 2020 class.

"I have around 15 offers right now and all of them mean a lot to me, but Georgia is the one that stands out to me the most," said Swint.

"I have a great feel for the school and the football program. I have been there for games, the spring game and it is just fun for me when I am there.

"Every time I got there I feel like I am part of the team already. They show me a lot of love and I have already started to bond with the coaching staff."

Dell McGee is Georgia's running backs and he has already made a big impact on the recruiting trail in Athens. He was the lead recruiter for D'Andre Swift in 2017, Zamir White's commitment over the summer had a lot to do with McGee and he played a role in Justin Fields' recruitment as well.

Swift is another top UGA target that thinks highly of McGee.

"He is just a great guy. He keeps it real and he and I have a great relationship. We see eye-to-eye on things. He is easy to relate to, he is easy to talk to and he has really shown me a lot about Georgia.

"It probably helps that he was a high school coach not that long ago. He knows where guys like me are coming from and he really knows how to communicate with guys like me."

Kirby Smart is the guy who hired McGee to coach between the hedges. When you see McGee on the sideline, he is usually very calm and relaxed. Smart is not always that way and Swint likes what he sees and knows in the leader of the Bulldog football team.

"I see a lot of energy in coach Smart," said Swint. "He is a hard-nosed coach who wants to get after it every day. He wants to win and he has that passion.

"I like how he is a defensive guy and he knows a lot about the game on my side of the ball. He seems like he would be a fun coach to play for."

Michigan is the next school on Swint's list and this list could change moving forward. He still has over two years until signing day 2020 and he is no rush to make a decision.

"I am thinking I will take my time with the recruiting process. I just want to get a state title for my high school team first. I have plenty of time to figure things out and commit, so I do not see myself committing early."
