Georgia LB with three offers

Tyrone Cornelius is a speedy and athletic linebacker prospect from Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson High School. Last season as a junior, Cornelius had a big year, recording 118 tackles, three interceptions (one returned for TD), two caused fumbles (one returned for TD), one blocked punt, three safeties, 12 tackles for a loss, and four sacks. Cornelius, 6-1.5 and 195 pounds, now has three scholarship offers.
"South Carolina was the first to offer," Cornelius said. "They did it right after Signing Day. (Stephenson head coach) Coach (Ron) Gartrell called me in the office and said congratulations on your first offer. They are an SEC school and I think I fit in well with them and all SEC schools. I have been camping with him (Steve Spurrier) for a while. I like his energy and his has tradition. I would love to help him build South Carolina.

"Georgia Tech offered me last week. I like their offense and the triple option. Their defense is always good. I just like how they play. I am going there this Friday to meet up with the coaches.
"The Auburn head coach (Gene Chizik) told my coach that I had an offer there and that they will be sending it in writing. I am certainly interested and can't wait to talk with them. I went to the Auburn/Georgia game last year. I like the stadium and fans. Auburn is real nice."
Cornelius also says he likes Florida, Miami, Alabama, Florida State, Central Florida and Georgia. He recently attended a junior day down in Gainesville.
"I hung out with the coaches and went over academic stuff. I also watched some position film and toured the facilities. I really liked it."
Cornelius will attend a junior day this weekend at South Carolina.
"I would love to check out Alabama this spring and would like to get down to Miami. Right now I am open."
