Cesa, a 6-foot-3, 232-pound linebacker from Marietta's Harrison High
School, says he will cast his lot with the defending ACC champions.
"I'm going to make it official sometime in August," he
said. "But I've decided that's the right place for me."
Cesa recently returned from a trip which included
unofficial visits to his top five schools -- Maryland, Penn State, Boston
College, West Virginia and Notre Dame. All but the Mountaineers had extended
official scholarship offers.
"I took some time to really look hard at the five
schools I was considering," he said. "I wanted to know everything about them,
and Maryland came out the best. Obviously, they're a program on the rise, and
they had more than enough to offer me academically and athletically. Plus, it's
between Baltimore and D.C., so there's plenty to do socially, and I felt
comfortable around their players.
"They acted like they wanted me the most, to be honest
with you, so it was a pretty easy decision. I'm glad to have the process wrapped
up."
As a junior, Cesa (4.6 forty, 330 bench) was an
all-region selection after recording 60 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three
sacks and two interceptions.
