Georgia LB might be leaning to Tech

Junior To Watch: Jae Thaxton
School: Hartwell (Ga.) Hart County
Position: Linebacker
Size and speed: Thaxton is 6-foot-3, 225 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds. He has a 275-pound bench press and a 390 pound squat. He has a 3.5 GPA.
Honors: All-county, all-region, all-state.
Statistics: Thaxton made 157 tackles in a stellar junior campaign.
Favorite schools: Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Colorado, Auburn, and Miami.
Skinny: Thaxton is a simple guy with an open mind.
"I haven't narrowed it down at all really. There are a lot of teams sending me stuff and a lot of teams I like."
Despite not naming any leaders, Thaxton knows what he wants in a school.
"Tradition is important to me. I don't want to play for a no-name program. There are the obvious things I want like early playing time, good academics and I don't want to travel far from home. Engineering is my major so a good engineering school will factor in as well."
Thaxton went on to say that he was not in a hurry with the process at all and that he wanted to enjoy it and listen to everyone and consider all of his options before he narrowed it down. If they offer, the in-state schools are figured to be the favorites to land the talented backer, especially Georgia Tech with their engineering reputation.
Thaxton already has offers from Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida State and Clemson.
