Jonna Lee appears to be focusing on three teams in his
recruitment.
"I'm hearing the most from Georgia, Florida and
Auburn, and those are the three teams that I'm most interested in," said
Lee, one of the South's top-rated
outside linebackers.
Lee (6-1, 217, 4.6) is sporting an official offer
from the Tigers, but thinks he's coming close to scholarships from the
Bulldogs and Gators.
"Florida's been coming on the strongest," he said.
"I really like what they've had to say to me. Coach (Larry) Fedora is
recruiting me. He says they're looking for defensive help, and that I'd
really fit in well with their style. I know I could help them out, so I'm
hoping they make me an offer.
"I was down there for the Miami game and had a great time. It's a fun place for football. They've got a great stadium and fans."
Until that occurs, he still lists Auburn at the top
of his list.
"They haven't done anything wrong," he said. "I like
their program a lot. I feel like it would be a good fit for me as well. I
just want to see what happens."
In that sense, home state Georgia plays a key role
in his decision-making process.
"I went up there Saturday for their game (against
Vanderbilt)," Lee said. "Coach (Brian) VanGorder said they really like me,
but as of now they're only taking four linebackers. If they decide to take a
fifth, I may have a shot. He said to just be patient and give them a chance
if I'm really interest in them. I'll probably do that. I'm not in a big
hurry to do anything before the season ends."
Through six games this season, Lee has recorded 66
tackles and four sacks. As a junior, he had 119 tackles and five sacks.
