Georgia LB has Florida State bloodlines, offer

So far this recruiting season one thing has been established in the state of Georgia and that is that there are tons of linebackers and lineman. Another linebacker in the Peach State to add to the list is Blakely (Ga.) Early County product Dan Foster.
“So far I have offers from Georgia, Florida State, Auburn, Central Florida and Georgia Tech,” said Foster. “I think that Michigan, Tennessee and UCLA are all also close to offering as well.”

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Foster recorded 80 tackles and four sacks in just eight games last year before his season was ended by a horrific broken leg.
“My leg is coming along well. Right now I feel like I am at 100-percent. We have been in spring practice and haven’t felt any pain in it so far. I am still a little bit gun-shy though every time I get hit, but I will get over that. I feel confident with where I am at right now.”
Former Florida State cornerback Tay Cody is Foster’s first cousin and some think it may give the Seminoles a slight advantage.
“Right now my number one school is Florida State, but Georgia is right there. Seriously one day I like one better and the next day I like the other better, they are that close. I am also looking at Florida, Tennessee, UCLA and Michigan.”
He has already visited Athens once to check out the Georgia Bulldog program for junior day.
“I had a great visit to Georgia on junior day. It was a great visit. I got to meet all the coaches and the linebackers coach, Van Gorder and he was a cool guy. I got to see what the talent was like at that level and how good they were. Georgia is going to have a very good team this year.”
Many consider Foster to be the No. 2 linebacker in the state of Georgia this year behind LaGrange’s Tray Blackmon and now that college coaches have seen how his injured leg is progressing his stock has never been higher.
“I’m going to be looking at the depth chart and academics. Those are the top two factors that will go into my decision. All the schools on my list have some of the top facilities out there so I don’t know if that will make a big difference. One thing that will make a big difference is the game atmosphere and how well the fans support their team at games.”
