Georgia lands Rivals100 WR Mark Webb

Mark Webb

To people that have followed the recruitment of Rivals100 wide receiver Mark Webb, his commitment to Georgia was not a surprise. The Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood made his commitment public prior to his team’s nationally televised game against Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph’s.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

“I picked Georgia because it feels like my home away from home right now,” Webb said. “They have great coaches and they're a program that's coming up and will be good in the future.

“Those visits to Athens were big,” he said. “Most colleges have some of the same things but theirs were better. They were great experiences.

“I paid a lot of attention to the wide receiver depth chart,” he said. “That's a big thing with me. I've always been making sure I get better so I can play at the next level. “

On going to the same school as his Rivals100 running back D’Andre Swift: “D'Andre wasn't really telling me that much,” said Webb. “He was saying stuff like, 'It would be nice if we played on the same team together just like we did in little league.'”

RIVALS' REACTION

Webb has come a long way over the past couple years and has developed into an elite wide receiver. The thing that stands out most about him are his sure hands. Webb has made some really incredible catches throughout his high school career and at the many Rivals Camp Series events he has attended. Georgia will be able to count on him in key situations to come up with tough catches and make big plays when the game is on the line.
