Georgia kicker gets first offer

Kicker Chase Goggans of Douglas (Ga.) Coffee High has received his first scholarship offer. But the accuracy and leg strength that Goggans has, it’s just a matter before more offers will be rolling in.
"I received my first offer from Florida State the other day," Goggans said. "Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida State and East Carolina all have called my house and been by my school.”

Goggans made 26 field goals out of 36 attempts with a long of 54 yards in his career. He also has 15 field goals more than 40 yards and is 55 for 57 on his point-after attempts and 75 percent of his kickoffs reach the end zone.
"It started in eighth grade when our team was losing pretty bad and towards the end of the game, Goggans said about how he got his start on the varsity squad. “My coach sent me out there for a 47-yard field goal. After I made it, I found out later it was middle school record.”
And he hopes to break even more records – like earning even more scholarship offers.
"Even though Florida State has offered I'm still pretty open on which school I'll choose," Goggans said. "Two things I will be looking for will be the academics and the atmosphere.”
