Georgia has their eye on this in-state quarterback

PELHAM, Ga. — A number of schools are showing interest in 2020 dual-threat quarterback Kendrick Patterson and the first offer is likely to come soon. Who will it be from?

The 6-foot-4, 205 pound sophomore has recently visited Auburn and Georgia, he is hearing a lot from Tennessee and Virginia Tech has started pick things up.

He did not get to spend too much time at Auburn because he had to get back home for a basketball game. Patterson spent a full day in Athens and he liked what he saw on his first visit to Georgia.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "It was my first time at Georgia and it was a great visit," said Patterson. "I got a little campus tour, I took a look around and I got to spend time with coach [Jim] Chaney.

"I loved being in the Georgia uniform and taking photos. That was a lot of fun. I liked being around the coaches too.

"I got some time with coach Kirby Smart and he was cool. He said he was happy to have me up there and he wants me to visit more.

"I am just going to keep grinding and keep working for that first offer. If it comes from Georgia, that would be great, but I will be happy with any offer. I think about it some, but I am just going to keep working hard no matter what.

"My visit to Georgia was awesome and they made a very strong first impression. I will be going back up there."

RIVALS REACTION: It is only a matter of time before someone offers Patterson. He is a big-time talent and he is definitely on the Georgia radar. Miami was Patterson's childhood favorite and his cousin, Allen Hurns played for the Hurricanes. Georgia offensive coordinator Jim Chaney talked offense and defense with Patterson and those two spent a lot of time together when he was in Athens. Patterson threw for 1,890 yards and 28 touchdowns. He added 413 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
