THE LATEST: IMG Academy tackle JC Latham moved to offense from defensive end this season and all seems to be going as planned at the new position. Interest in his services continues to grow and new schools have joined the mix since Sept. 1. A Wisconsin native, Latham is still considered an early Badgers lean but it’s clear that Georgia and others are closing the gap.

Below, Latham discusses both Wisconsin and UGA, which seem to be two majors players in his recruitment.

ON WISCONSIN :

“We’ve been talking a little bit. Sept. 1 kicked in, so we’ve been talking even a little more than we were even before. I’m just continuing to build that relationship with them.”

ON BEING CONSIDERED A WISCONSIN LEAN:

“That’s what people think, and I love Wisconsin. I love the fact that it’s my home and I grew up in that place. it ‘s really just me. You know?”

ON THE SCHOOLS THAT CALLED ON SEPT. 1:

“There was a lot of them, man. I can’t even remember all of them.”

ON WHICH COACHES HE CLICKED WITH ESPECIALLY WELL ON SEPT. 1:

“I clicked with Oregon right away. I FaceTiimed with them a lot. I talked to Georgia, too. Those are two big iones, but I know I’m forgetting somebody. Georgia and Oregon I clicked with right off the bat, though.”

ON HIS CONVERSATION WITH GEORGIA’S COACHES:

“We talked a lot about which side of the ball I’d play on. Right now, I’m left tackle. I really like it this spot, so I might stay here. I don’t really care either way, though, it’s whatever I have to do to get to the league. I’m really trying to figure it out right now.”

ON GEORGIA’S LARGER MESSAGE TO HIM:

“They are really just trying to get me down there to go to a game. They talked to me about [IMG teammate and current UGA commit] Warren [Brinson] and us going to a game together.”

ON WHAT BRINSON TELLS HIM:

“Even when he was de-committed he always said great things about Georgia. Even then, when he wasn’t committed, he said that out of all the schools he talks to, Georgia is still the best school he’s ever been to. He was saying it’s the best facility and the best weight room he’s even been to.”
