Georgia DT ready for visits

Three-star Decatur (Ga.) defensive tackle Frank Morton continues to command some serious attention on the recruiting trail despite previous reports that he may have committed to Ohio State.
“I’m open right now,” he said. “I still like Ohio State a lot, but I’m getting calls from just about everyone in the SEC and ACC and a few teams out west. I’m trying to figure out where I want to visit before I say anything else about where I’m going.”

Morton (6-4, 280, 4.85) says he’s received offers from every school in the SEC with the exception of Georgia and Tennessee. Likewise for the ACC, with the exception of Florida State. Oklahoma State has also offered.
Schools like Ohio State, USC and Miami are showing consistent interest.
“My top five right now are Ohio State, Arkansas, USC, Oklahoma State and Florida,” he said. “I’m thinking about visiting those. I’m also thinking about visiting some schools unoffically that are within a short driving distance – Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, North Carolina, Wake Forest and N.C. State.”
Morton made an unofficial visit to Auburn for the USC game. He also attended Georgia Tech’s game against Clemson this past weekend. He’s considering Auburn-Western Kentucky, Florida-Kentucky or South Carolina-Tennessee among possible games this weekend.
Four games into his senior season at Southwest Dekalb, Morton has put up some big numbers. He’s recorded 51 tackles and six sacks. In the first game of the season, he broke a school record with 21 stops, including six behind the line of scrimmage.
But he said his best game was probably against powerhouse Stone Mountain Stephenson when he had eight tackles in a 17-13 upset.
“That was a huge win for us,” Morton said. “That helped turn our season around.”
As a junior, Morton recorded 128 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and eight sacks.
Academically, he maintains a 2.9 GPA and has scored a 900 on the SAT.
