Georgia DT new name to look for

Marrietta (Ga.) Lassiter defensive tackle Neel Allen is a name that many recruiting fans haven’t talked a whole lot about, but they probably should.
That’s because the 6-foot-3, 270-pound lineman is working his way up the charts and has some impressive scholarship offers on his list.

“I would rather play defensive end in college, but I think I’m going to end up being better off at tackle because of my size and frame,” Allen said. “I think I’ve had a pretty good year so far. I have more than 70 tackles and about eight sacks.”
It’s that type of play that has earned scholarship offers from Auburn, Kentucky and Minnesota and attention from Georgia.
Allen has lined up visits with Minnesota on Dec. 7, Auburn on Dec. 14 and Kentucky on Jan. 18. Georgia is asking him for a January date, but no visit is set.
“Kentucky and Minnesota are my leaders,” he said. “They’re both great schools, and I could get a great shot at playing early up there. I like Auburn and plan on checking them out, too. I really don’t know where I stand with Georgia.”
No matter what happens, keep your eyes on Allen because he’s quickly becoming one of the top targets in the Peach State.
