Georgia DT has a ton of offers

In last year’s Georgia high school semi-final games there were many juniors who proved that they would be a Division I prospect on the next level. In virtually every game there was at least one underclassmen that made a name for themselves. No underclassmen was more impressive Hawkinsville, Ga. defensive/offensive lineman Brandon Perry.
“I’m pretty excited about all this attention,” Perry said. “Sometimes it’s tough, but it has been a lot of fun so far and it is really cool getting to talk to all of these college coaches. Oh man I have gotten calls from just about everybody, just some of the ones I have heard from are Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia Tech and USC.”

Perry stands at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds and is very light on his feet. He runs the 40-yard dash in 5.2 seconds and has an amazingly quick first step.
“I don’t really have a set list of schools that I’m looking at,” Perry said. “Georgia is in there, so is Florida State, Florida and Miami, but I haven’t been hearing a whole lot from Miami. Coach Campbell said that Georgia, Florida State and Florida call just about everyday to ask about me.”
Perry’s cousin, Charles Johnson signed with the Georgia Bulldogs in the class of 2004 and recently got his qualifying score on the SAT.
“We were all real excited for him,” Perry said. “He is a good guy and I think he can go in there and compete for playing time early. He isn’t pressuring me to come to UGA at all. He told me that he would love to have me there, but that in the end the decision was on me.”
As a junior Perry collected 53 solo tackles, 49 assists, 16 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and recovered two fumbles. While Perry states he is wide open many believe that the Bulldogs will be tough to beat in the end.
“Coach Martinez is recruiting me for Georgia and he is a pretty cool guy. I’ve been around him a lot from when he recruited Charles and I’ve been to camps at Georgia. I’m just trying to weigh all of my options and I will announce on signing day.”
The massive Perry has a 325-pound bench press and 535-pound squat. He also does 26 reps of 185 pounds on the bench press.
