Georgia DL Jamarcus Chatman schedules four official visits

Jamarcus Chatman re-opened his recruitment earlier this month and he is set for a very busy month of January and early February.

As soon as the 6-foot-3, 260 pound defensive lineman out of Rome (Ga.) decommitted from Tennessee, Chatman's phone starting going off. The first school to contact him was North Carolina and the Tar Heels are set to receive the first official visit.

Chatman plans to be in Chapel Hill January 12 for an official visit, then Michigan State (January 19), Florida State (January 26) and Florida (February 2) the next three weekends.

Those visits will be crucial.

"Each visit I take will be very important," said Chatman. "I have not visited any of these schools before, so I do not know a lot about them yet. I need to see what each school has to offer and I know they will show me all their best, so they are important to me."

The date for Chatman to decide is Signing Day, February 7, so he knows he is in for a crazy ride the next month and a half.

"I will be busy. Michigan State came to see me before the quiet period and I know all the others are coming in January. Some coaches came to my school too, so I know it is about to be busy.

"I just need to talk to the coaches and see the different schools so I can make my decision."

Chatman does not know a lot about any of the four schools he is set to visit yet. He is currently talking to at least one coach per school and he likes what he hears. Georgia Tech is another school he could visit and Nebraska offered this week, so he wants to learn more about the Huskers.

Since he opened his recruitment back up, Chatman has fielded phone calls, text with coaches daily won another state title and celebrated Christmas with his family. Now all he is thinking about is finding the right school for him.

"It is going to be all about the right fit for me," said Chatman. "I am searching for the school that best fits me. I want to see how I am with the coaches, what system the school runs and who can help me be the most successful in the future.

"I am talking to coaches every day right now and getting ready for the visits in January."

Chatman said he does not know too much about any of the four schools yet and while this quartet of schools are highest on his list, there is no order at this time.
