Lane Kiffin is in the process of putting his first full recruiting class together at Ole Miss, and one of the names on that list will be McDonough (Ga.) Ola defensive lineman Devin Lee.
The 6-foot-4, 275 pounder committed to the Rebels over Duke, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.
"I knew I wanted to go to Ole Miss about two weeks ago after watching them play their first games," said Lee. "I called coach Deke Adams and coach Lane Kiffin last Wednesday and told them about my commitment and they were fired up.
"I feel like Ole Miss is the best place for me because I get to play against the best competition every week, I can also have a early impact on Ole Miss defense and I feel like they’re only a couple of pieces away from being a top 10 team."
This hasn't been a normal year for anyone. Visits have been banned since early March, so the new thing is virtual visits. Lee has not tripped to Oxford, but he took part in multiple virtual visits to get a good look at what Ole Miss has to offer.
The process wasn't easy, and he missed out on those face-to-face meetings, but Lee managed, and is now committed to an SEC program.
"The process was very tough not being able to go on any visits and meeting the coaches face to face, but I’m very excited to be committed to Ole Miss, and I’m most excited about where the program is going," said Lee.
The coaching staff Kiffin put together played a major role in this decision. Coach Adams is Lee's lead recruiter and he played a "major role" in this decision.
The head coach has the new commit excited too.
"I’ve talked to coach Kiffin multiple times and I think he is an offensive genius."
