Georgia DE/LB waiting for main offer

Tucker (Ga.) defensive end/linebacker Brandon Lang appeared on the verge of making an early commitment earlier this spring, but now says he’s waiting on the one scholarship offer he desires most.
“I’m hoping Georgia makes one soon,” he said. “They’d be No. 1 on my list if they offered. I’m going there for camp in July, so hopefully something will happen by then.”

Lang (6-5, 225, 4.55) has standing offers from Florida State, LSU, North Carolina, Maryland, Wake Forest, Illinois and Louisville among a handful of other schools. The Seminoles were looking like the leader in May, but the home state Bulldogs now hold that position.
“I’m really looking for something close to home where they have the academic programs and football tradition I’m looking for,” he said. “Georgia has all that. I still like Florida State, though. They’re one of my top choices, depending on what happens.”
Lang, who had 50 tackles and 16 sacks as a junior, rounds out his current top five with North Carolina, Louisville and Wake Forest. He said Auburn could also crack the list if he receives an offer. It had earlier been reported that the Tigers had offered, but Lang says that was not accurate.
He’s been to 7-on-7 camp at Auburn and team camp at Furman this spring. He’ll head to Florida State and Georgia in July.
Academically, he had a 3.0 GPA the last two semesters, lifting his overall core to 2.6. He took his SAT last Saturday.
