Georgia DE heads to ACC

Decatur (Ga.) Southwest DeKalb defensive end Xavier Rainey is heading to the ACC with his commitment.
"I'm a Tar Heel," Rainey, who is 6-foot-4 1/2 and 235 pounds, said. "I committed to them last night.

"North Carolina just has the total package. It's the best deal for me. They have great academics and it's now becoming known as a football school."
Rainey said he's solid on his commitment, but not solid enough to not take other official visits. He’s currently driving to Georgia Tech for an official visit with the Yellow Jackets.
"I don't think I'm going to switch or anything," he said. "But I wanted to at least see what Georgia Tech has to offer. The new coaches seem nice."
Duke, Tulane, UCF and Mississippi State also recruited Rainey. He said he had offers from all of those teams.
