Georgia DB makes his pick

Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler defensive back Boyd Coleman has been one of the fastest rising prospects in the Peach State over the last couple of months and has been picking up some impressive offers. This weekend he took an official visit to Kentucky and came back ready to make his commitment, but was it to the Wildcats?
"I committed to Minnesota tonight," Coleman said. "I have been thinking about making a commitment for a while and I just went ahead and decided to do it. I really liked how they said they were going to use me and I really like the coaches and the school when I went to visit back in December."

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Coleman runs the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds, has a shuttle of 4.35 seconds and has a 34-inch vertical jump.
"I went to Kentucky and I compared it to Minnesota and I knew Minnesota was the place for me," Coleman said. "That's not saying anything bad about Kentucky because it's a great place, but I wanted to be at Minnesota and I knew that so there was no need to wait any longer to make my commitment."
He touched on how the Gopher staff told him they would use him once he got on campus.
"They told me that they were going to use me to return some kicks and stuff," Coleman said. "They said that I am also going to be playing cornerback for them and that they would use me as a wide receiver at times as well. They told me to come in ready to play as a true freshman."
