The Latest: It's been almost three months since Georgia defensive back Joey Blount committed to Virginia and according to him, things are still going very well with the Cavaliers. But several other schools continue to recruit Blount, who recently took a visit to Auburn. Rivals.com caught up with the Virginia legacy and current commit to get the latest on his recruitment.

In His Words: "Me and the defensive backs coach, Coach Howell, we keep in touch. The head coach, Coach Mendenhall keeps in touch with me, he reaches out on holidays, Father's Day, Mother's Day to check in with me and my family and other coaches on the staff keep in touch too. It's a really good relationship right now. I haven't been up to campus since I committed. I was hoping to get up for a camp this summer but I don't think I'm going to be able to make it because of transportation so hopefully I can get back up there sometime in the fall.

On visiting other schools: "I took a visit to Auburn. The coaches really like me down there so I drove down there to see campus. If a coach gets in contact with me and they invite me I'll definitely take a visit. This is just an experience I want to take advantage of and my commitment hasn't changed. I just want to take every opportunity I can.

Rivals Reaction: Blount has been destined to play for Virginia pretty much since he emerged on the recruiting radar but it's also not surprising to see him want to explore his options. The Cavaliers remain his only Power Five offer to date, so unless something drastically changes it's hard to imagine him not being part of the school's 2017 class.
