Georgia DB hits the road

Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge cornerback Cameron Demps hit his first of two weekend prospect camp stops when he worked out at South Carolina on Saturday. Demps had a good report about his camp and could be nearing an offer from the Gamecocks.
"The came went very good," Demps said. "I shut people down when I was out there."

As for the program, Demps came away impressed.
"I really like it there," he said. "I could see myself going to South Carolina."
Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, North Carolina and Buffalo have offered the 5-foot-8, 165-pounder and the Gamecocks could be close to pulling the trigger after seeing him in camp Saturday.
"(South Carolina secondary coach) Ron Cooper said he just had to evaluate me and he did," Demps said. "So I am waiting to see what they are going to do in terms of making an offer."
During this interview, Demps was on his way to Gainesville, Fla., and the Gators prospect camp. Florida remains interested.
"Basically they are evaluating me, too," he said. "They told me that I am in their top defensive backs rating. They want to see me in man coverage before they offer."
Demps continues to not have a favorite.
"I am just wide open right now."
