Georgia DB headed north

Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson defensive back Raeshon Ball had his heart set on joining brother Reggie at Georgia Tech, but will have to take a different route to college.
“I’m going to commit to Central Michigan,” he said. “I’m going up there for my official visit this weekend, and unless something goes wrong, that’s where I’m going.

“It was my best offer. Georgia Tech and BYU pulled off me because my test score wasn’t high enough, so I had to start looking around at other options.”
Ball (5-9, 170, 4.4) said he’s happy with what he’s found at Central Michigan so far.
“They’ve been real good in recruiting me,” he said. “My recruiting coach stuck with me the whole time. He’s been on me since summer, and he always stayed in touch and made sure I knew they wanted me up there.
“I feel like I can go there and contribute, get on the field early.”
As a senior, Ball recorded 12 pass break-ups and four interceptions.
