Jeremie Johnson.
"Right now there's a ton of people calling and
making offers, but I'd have to say my leaders are Georgia Tech, Auburn,
Clemson, Georgia and Mississippi State," said Johnson, a member of the Rivals.com
Georgia
Top 50 team and the No. 19 cornerback in the nation.
"It's real close on those teams right now,
especially the first four. I couldn't really say any of them are No. 1.
They're all up there. The main things I'm looking for is a good overall
program with people who make me feel like I fit in -- somewhere that feels
like home. That, plus playing time. I want to be able to play as a
freshman."
Johnson (6-0, 180, 4.45) noted he liked the personal
attention he's been receiving from the Georgia Tech and Auburn coaching
staffs. "They've been to see me play a couple of times in person and made me
know how much they thought of me," he said.
He's currently in the process of setting up official
visits. Georgia Tech has one for Dec. 13. He'll be at Mississippi State in
early January, although the date has not been finalized.
Johnson led the Peach State in interceptions as a
junior with nine. Teams are staying away from him this season -- "Nobody
will really challenge me, but that's respect" -- although he's still
recorded 40 tackles and two interceptions in helping lead Booker T.
Washington to a 6-2-1 record.
