Georgia DB Doneiko Slaughter commits to Arizona State

Doneiko Slaughter took an official visit to Arizona State almost a month ago to the day and he is now on the Sun Devils' commitment list.

The 6-foot, 180 pound defensive back out of Roswell, Ga. had plenty of options, but decided earlier this week that he wants to call Tempe home in the future.

"I have committed to Arizona State and I picked them over Miami, Troy, Arkansas State, Memphis, and Mississippi State," said Slaughter. "I made the decision a couple of days ago on June 26.

"I chose Arizona State because I really feel like I can accomplish a lot there. I really feel a connection with the coaching staff.

"This commitment means to me that I have chosen the school that i feel has my best interest. I let the coaches know of my decision Thursday and they were excited about it.

"It feels great to be committed because now I feel like i can fully focus on my senior year."

Slaughter still plans to take visits, but Arizona State has put itself in a great position to sign the Peach State safety.
