Georgia coach Kirby Smart shows up at 5-star's school in helicopter
Lanier High School, home of five-star defensive tackle Derrick Brown, is just an hour drive from Athens, Ga. but new Georgia football coach Kirby Smart decided to make the trip in style on Thursday morning.
Smart and Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker arrived at the school in a helicopter, touching down on the school's football field. Georgia is in a heated battle with Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi State to land Brown, who took his official visit to Athens last weekend.
Brown will visit Tennessee this weekend and announced on Thursday he won't be conducting any interviews with the media until Signing Day. He's scheduled to announce his decision at 3 PM on ESPNU on Wednesday, Feb. 3.
