Duke added their tenth recruit of the season when cornerback Matt Pridemore out of Buford, Ga. committed to them over a visit yesterday.
"I wasn't totally positive going into the visit that I would commit, but I had an idea and that fortified it for me by just talking to the coaches and seeing how excited and motivated they were to win football games," he said. "They were excited when I told them about my commitment and they just told me, welcome to the family. Coach Spencer, Roof and Azzinaro are all great guys and very personable."
Did anything else help the Blue Devils to land the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder?
"The coaches seemed to have a plan, a vision and I bought into it. I think they can win some games and it's a great education too," he said. "They've got a beautiful campus with class act people and coaches."
The cornerback prospect is happy to have a decision behind him.
"It's a burden off my back, now that I've taken care of that I can focus on my team."
Pridemore missed all of last season with a shoulder injury, but is a solid track star also with a 22.79-second 200 meter dash.
