Georgia back stays in-state

Sylvania (Ga.) Screven County running back Michael Cooper has made up his mind. And he's not going too far away to play his college ball.
"I committed to UGA this weekend," he said. "The visit went great. I met with the whole staff and the head coach there was really cool.

Coach Richt sat with my mom and me and answered all her questions. He made us feel very comfortable there."
So is Cooper, who has only visited LSU also, done taking trips?
"I've cancelled all my visits," Cooper said. Georgia is it."
Cooper also had offers from Maryland, Georgia Tech, Florida, Penn State and Clemson, but in the end it didn’t matter because he’s a Dawg. He’s the second running back commitment of the weekend for UGA. The Dawgs earlier landed Ibi Halsey, but Cooper said that doesn’t matter.
"I got to meet the other running back who committed," he said. "He was a cool guy and I'm looking forward to competing with him."
