Georgia back hopes to make strides

Rosewell, Ga., running back Randell Bell is ranked as a three-star player and the No. 54 running back in the nation. But for a man ranked that high, he still remains somewhat of a mystery to recruiting fans throughout the Southeast. That could change if Bell makes some strides in the classroom.
"I have a 2.3 right now at the start of the school year," Bell said. "I'm working pretty hard and getting back on track. I think I can make it all right if I stay focused."

Bell, who is 5-foot-8 and 191 pounds, said one team has already stepped up and told him even if he doesn't make it he would be one of their top targets.
"I talked to coach (Mike) Bobo at Georgia, and he told me they're holding an offer for me," Bell said. "They told me if I didn't make it, that I could go to Hargrave (Military Academy) and then come back and play for them when I'm done there."
But Georgia isn't the only team showing interest. Bell said Southern Miss and Ball State are also sending him regular mail and other programs like Florida, Georgia Tech, Oregon and Tennessee are also interested.
"I'm pretty sure I'm going to get more offers after this season," Bell said. "I want to go out there, take care of things both on and off the field and then I'll have some good teams to pick from."
On the field, Bell started the season off right. He didn't get a lot of carries in his first game, but his team won 28-0.
