Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech and Georgia are other schools that have been showing the 6-foot, 220-pounder some attention in the form of letters.
Currently, Mississippi State stands out, however.
"I like coach Sylvester Croom," Davis said. "I like the staff."
Davis took an unofficial visit to Starkville last summer.
"I liked the facilities," he said.
He also has been to Tuscaloosa, Athens and Atlanta.
"I thought all of them were great," he said. "All of these schools are close to home and my mom can go to the games and watch me play. Plus, the competition is great.
"I want to go somewhere I can go in and play. I want to play right away."
Davis recently attended the Athens NIKE Camp on the campus of the University of Georgia where he impressed.
