Georgia athlete racking up offers

One of the Peach State’s most versatile players is Columbus (Ga.) Pacelli running back/safety Matt Dunham. Depending on who you talk to about Matt, he may be a safety or a running back. Whatever the case may be, schools are taking notice of his talent.
“Florida gave me an offer in writing today,” Dunham said. “Coach Ron Zook was here and he gave the offer to my coach and he gave me mine because I couldn’t to coach Zook.”

Dunham, who runs a 4.55 40-yard dash rushed for approximately 1,500 yards and 32 touchdowns as a junior. He also started at safety picking off seven passes and returning one for a touchdown. He also returned a punt for a touchdown.
“So far I have offers from Auburn, Maryland and now Florida. My top schools right now are Maryland, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech and South Carolina. I don’t have a favorite right now.”
As a junior he picked all-state honors as a safety, all-region honors and all-Bi-city honors.
“I went to Auburn’s spring game and I have also been to Eastern Kentucky and Florida State this spring. I just went to Eastern Kentucky to watch my oldest brother play.
I had a great trip to Florida State. When I went down there I got to meet all kinds of celebrities like Deion Sanders and Derek Brooks. It is just a great environment down there. I haven’t seen Florida yet, but I would like to.”
Dunham plans to attend the NIKE camp at Georgia Tech on May 8th.
“When the recruiting process first got started Kalvin (Baker) and I were going to go somewhere together no matter what. Now that the process has gotten started we realize that it is best to make our own decisions. I mean we would still like to go to the same place, but if it doesn’t work out then its okay.”
