Georgia athlete has favorites

Norcross (Ga.) Meadowcreek linebacker/tight end Chyl Quarles is waiting for his first scholarship offer, but is getting plenty of attention by way of mail and has an idea about which schools are his favorites.
Quarles is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound jumbo athlete and is the younger brother of class of 2005 Connecticut signee Kelvin Quarles.

"I'd kind of like to play like my brother," he said.
Chyl is currently receiving letters from Georgia Tech, Clemson, Florida and Oklahoma.
The Yellow Jackets were one of the teams he grew up cheering for and have emerged as one of his favorites.
"I liked Georgia Tech as an academic school," he said. "I have always followed them, being from Georgia. It's one of my childhood dreams (to play at Georgia Tech)."
According to Quarles, the academic side of a program is going to be a big factor in his final decision.
"Academics will be key," he said. "I know I want to go to one of the top schools in the country."
South Carolina, LSU and Oklahoma also are schools that have caught Quarles' attention.
"With South Carolina, I just like Steve Spurrier," he said. "I would just love to play for him.
"LSU also was one of my childhood dreams and I would just love to play there. I like how LSU runs the ball on offense and its defense is amazing.
"I like Oklahoma's mail and it's great to be recruited by a top program."
Quarles hopes to attend the Athens NIKE Camp April 29 on the campus of the University of Georgia. He also will camp at Auburn this summer.
