Georgia ATH having solid summer
Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County defensive back/athlete Brandon King is one of the hottest names in the Peach State right now. He already has nine offers and was hoping to pick up another this weekend in Athens when he attended camp at the University of Georgia.
“I thought I did really well at the camp,” King said. “I thought I might have earned an offer, but they didn’t offer, but I think they will though. I talked to the coaches and they said that they really liked me, but they just want to see how I do when the year starts.”

Last season King had several big days on the gridiron, and at several positions. He found production rushing the football, totaling 810 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a passer he threw for 640 yards and eight touchdowns, and defensively he collected 18 tackles and two interceptions.
“Georgia is recruiting me as a free safety,” King said. “I talked to (defensive backs) coach Martinez for about 30 minutes after the camp and he was just telling me kind of where I stood with them. I really like coach Martinez a lot, he is a good guy and he really knows his stuff.”
He measured in at 5-foot-10, weighing in at 171 pounds at the NIKE camp in Atlanta. His vertical jump was 32 inches, and he benched pressed 185 pounds 17 times.
“Right now I have offers from Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Ball State, Clemson, Louisville, Florida, Georgia Southern and Vanderbilt,” King said. “I think my top five is probably Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Clemson and Florida State. I haven’t heard too much from Florida State, but I need to send them my film. Kyle and I both like Florida State and Georgia a lot and we want to go to the same place.”
King also attended camps at Florida and Georgia Tech this summer and will be at the Auburn camp this weekend.
