Georgia ATH gets first offer

A Big 12 program is the first to extend an official scholarship offer to Roswell (Ga.) athlete Garrett Embry.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder, who could play wide receiver or safety in college, picked up an offer from Baylor as a wide receiver.

"I don't know much about them, but they are the first official offer so they are in there," Embry said.
Recently, Embry traveled to Orlando to get a look at Central Florida unofficially.
"I enjoyed my visit," Embry said. "I was able to talk to all the position coaches that I may come in contact with later on if I were to commit. I like all of the coaching styles. I was also called into talk to (UCF head coach) George O'Leary and was told by him that if he liked my tape that I would have an offer as soon as it could get to me."
Embry will go to South Carolina this coming weekend for the Gamecocks' Junior Day. He will attend Auburn's Junior Day on March 17 and plans to return to Central Florida on April 7.
Alabama, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Northwestern, Boston College, Florida and others have been in contact with Embry.
Caught 15 passes for 300 yards and had more than 30 tackles during his junior year.
