The Latest: Deangelo Gibbs has done his best to maintain some secrecy when it comes to his recruitment, but heading into his announcement during Sunday's Under Armour All-America Game, it appears to be a clear battle between Alabama and Georgia. Rivals.com caught up with Gibbs to break down his options at both schools leading into his upcoming announcement.
In His Words:
Georgia: "I've always liked Georgia. It's an option close to home and I know a lot of people there. They have always been there and the coaching staff has told me how bad they want me there."
Alabama: "He just spoke on the opportunity that I can have ... [Alabama] It's one of the most electrifying atmospheres ever to play in ... The tradition and opportunity for me to go in and play. The overall tradition of winning. If you don't like winning you shouldn't consider Alabama. They have the top-notch everything. I took the visit there this summer. I can see myself playing for them. I enjoyed being on the campus. It would be great playing for Coach Saban and developing as a player. It would just be great to be in the program."
Rivals Reaction: Alabama has made a hard push late to land him and while he once seemed destined for there, many are confident that he will end up staying close to home in Athens. Gibbs will keep everyone guessing until Sunday, but he said he does have his mind made up so it's unlikely either school can do anything to help their case between now and then.
