Gem OL getting attention

There is an offensive lineman in Northern California who is getting plenty of recruiting action and many claim he’s among the top five in the entire Golden State. Let Pac10Recruiting introduce you to Robbie Garibay from Palo Cedro (Calif.) Foothill.
Garibay certainly has the dimensions and quickness the D-I schools like as he stands 6-foot-6, weighs 310 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.2 seconds. What is really an eye opener is the fact that Garibay is only 16 years old and he has the potential to get even bigger. He benches 270 pounds, full squats 450 pounds, dead lifts 600 pounds and cleans 290-pounds.

If you like big guys with agility then Garibay is your man. He has really good feet and he’s very athletic for his size. “Robbie can really move,” Foothill head coach Mark Pettengill. “We like to pull the tackle and Robbie does a great job. He really gets after it.” Garibay had 12 pancakes for his junior season.
Garibay is a great all-around athlete who is a three-sport letterman who was selected 1st-team all-state, all-section and all-league for his performance on the gridiron as a junior. He is already qualified with a 3.6 GPA and 1060 SAT.
Garibay is receiving hand written letters from most of the Pac 10, including hand written letters from Oregon head coach Mike Belotti. Notre Dame and LSU are also recruiting Garibay hard. The Ducks have invited Garibay to their football camp this summer…
There are two other players from Foothill high who are getting recruiting action they are Bobby Boetjer and Jacob Pettengill.
Boetjer is a 6-foot-5 defensive end that weighs 225 pounds and ran a 4.8 40-yard dash at the Nike camp at USC in April. Boetjer is a complete neophyte to the game of football. He has only been playing the game for 1½ years. Boetjer has the potential to very good once he gets some seasoning.
The Oregon Ducks have also invited Boetjer to their football camp this summer and Notre Dame is sending him handwritten letters. USC and Stanford are also showing recruiting interest. Boetjer could be the poster boy for home schooling as he carries a 3.97 GPA…
Pettengill is a two-way starter as a defensive back/running back. He stands 5-foot-11, weighs 200 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.59. Pettengill bounced back his junior year after suffering as a sophomore by rushing for over 1,000 yards and leading his team in tackles.
Pettengill is planning on attending football camps at Oregon, Idaho and Idaho State. He has a tremendous work ethic and deep desire to win. Pettengill played linebacker for the last two years, but will play strong safety as a senior. He has outstanding leadership qualities, enthusiasm and charisma. Great in the weight room with 275 pound bench, a full squat of 465-pounds, trap bar dead lift of 600 and a clean of 300-pounds…
