Geffert enjoys Big Ten camp

Griffith, Ind., defensive end Ben Geffert has been to five football camps including the most recent one over the weekend.
"I went to Illinois' camp," Geffert said. "It went pretty good. I really liked the coaches. I learned a lot of stuff. I got to see the stadium. I liked that. It was a nice camp."

While the Fighting Illini did not offer a scholarship, they will be keeping an eye on Geffert.
"I talked to the coaches," Geffert said. "They said they were excited about having me there and they'll keep in touch."
Geffert has also been to camps at Purdue, Indiana, Ball State and Northern Illinois.
"I'm looking at all of them," he said. "And I'm also looking at Bowling Green, but I didn't get the chance to go to their camp."
It looks like Geffert is finished visiting colleges for now.
"Right now I don't have plans for any other trips," he said. "I don't have any favorites at the moment."
The 6-foot-5 and 260-pound Geffert, a varsity starter since his freshman year, has played on both sides of the line. He was an all-conference selection as well as being selected to the junior all-state team last season.
