Gebbia talks Nebraska trip

Tristan Gebbia loved his Nebraska visit this past weekend and even though the Huskers keep losing close games that will not influence the 2017 four-star quarterback in his recruitment.
The Calabasas, Calif., standout has been to Lincoln before but this was the first time for a game and Gebbia had a great time.

"I really loved my visit," Gebbia said. "Being out there with that fan base and that game-day atmosphere was definitely something special. I really liked being able to talk with coach (Mike) Riley and coach (Danny) Langsdorf about what they're doing over there. Overall, I was really impressed.
"They said they could really see me working well in the offense. They're going more toward pro-style with their recruiting classes because of what they did at Oregon State and they think I could be a good fit there."
Gebbia, rated as the fourth-best pro-style quarterback in the 2017 class, had a great time mainly because of the game-day environment. He said it was something he had never seen before.
"When they say sea of red, they really mean sea of red because that stadium is entirely red-out," Gebbia said. "I've never seen a whole stadium entirely in unison. You get a tackle for a loss and they cheer like it's a touchdown so it's a great environment."
The Huskers are 2-4 but have suffered some majorly tough losses this season. Nebraska has not lost a game by more than five points yet. The record might not reflect it but Gebbia said he likes what the Huskers are doing.
"It doesn't really affect what I'm thinking about with them," Gebbia said. "I want it to be a good fit for me. The good news is they've been in tight games with really good teams. In my head, they just need a couple more guys to help that coaching staff out on the field and do what they envision."
The 2017 prospect has more visits coming up. Gebbia plans to see West Virginia and Miami. Possible trips to Washington State and Oklahoma State could happen, too.
