Gebbia starts with two offers

Tristan Gebbia had a tremendous sophomore season and now schools from across the country are starting to take notice.
His first two offers from Kentucky and Louisville are unique from a geographical standpoint but the 2017 quarterback from Calabasas, Calif., is excited to be on the board and is thrilled coaches have taken notice of his sophomore film.

"We sent my tape out and I guess they liked my tape and they wanted to give me an offer and that I was good enough to offer," Gebbia said. "Based off stats and tape that's how they decided to offer.
"I talked to (Kentucky) coach (Tommy) Mainord and coach (Garrick) McGee from Louisville. They said they liked my tape and that's why they decided to give me an offer."
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound prospect is not planning any unofficial visits yet. Gebbia said he's more focused on improving for his junior season so more programs could get involved.
"As of right now, I'm going to work on getting better for next season and we're going to see what happens," Gebbia said.
"It's a possibility that I might go out there and meet the coaches. I like those programs, they're pretty good programs. For right now I'm focused on getting better so they're justified by offering me."
As for other things going on in his recruitment, it has been pretty slow. The 2017 quarterback has briefly chatted with some other coaches but Gebbia said no other schools have really reached out this early.
"I haven't really been talking to any other schools," Gebbia said. "William Tuihalamaka is at my school and when coaches come in to see him I'll get to meet them but that's pretty much it because they can't talk to me too much."
In his sophomore season, Gebbia threw for 3,336 yards with 35 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
