Gebbia excited for spring workouts

Tristan Gebbia still has a lot of time in the recruiting process and the 2017 quarterback got a valuable jumpstart recently as his Team 19 squad visited teams throughout Texas and the Midwest.
The Calabasas, Calif., standout did not receive any offers from any of the four schools visited but Gebbia loved going on the trips and getting a much better feel for all the programs.

"I really loved how Texas was really straightforward and they seemed like they're that old-school coaching staff where they're going to tell you when you did something good but also when you did something bad and they're going to make you work as hard as you can the old-fashioned way," Gebbia said.
"At Nebraska the approach was really cool, do your job, we're going to all do this together. It's like a unit there.
"Oklahoma was really cool. The town was amazing and seeing all that tradition and all those great quarterbacks there like Landry Jones and Sam Bradford was really cool to me. The facilities at Texas A&m were just amazing."
So far, Gebbia has landed offers from Kentucky and Louisville and many others are showing interest. After his recent visits, the 2017 prospect said he's heard positive news from some of those coaching staffs.
"The Texas OC said he liked my tape and everything so hopefully they're interested in me," Gebbia said. "Down the road they might fly the offer which would be really nice. I think Nebraska likes me and Oklahoma said they like my film, too."
Recently, Penn State and Duke are two other programs that have reached out and could see him throw during the spring. Those months could be crucial to his recruitment.
"It's extremely motivating," Gebbia said. "I have a two-month window now to get to the best point I could possibly be before these colleges come out and then hopefully everything goes as I think it will."
In his sophomore season, Gebbia had 3,336 passing yards with 35 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
