Gautreaux coming on

Friendswood (Texas) High School is led by a high-powered offense, directed by Texas Tech verbal commit Jacob Karam. Karam has thrown for 31 touchdowns and over 2,300 yards, leading the Mustangs to the playoffs and a district championship.
But who is on the other end of all those passes?

Receiver Andre Gautreaux has exploded on the scene his senior season and is finally getting recognized by Division I schools including Tulane, Rice and Kansas.
"He's a no-brainer receiver at the Division I level," coach Steve Van Meter said. "He has great hips and change of direction. He can get to top speed very quickly and catches anything you throw to him."
Never was that more evident than last week against traditional-power La Marque. The 6-foot athlete had 181 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He also returned four kick-offs for 189 yards, including an 88-yard touchdown.
In a Hurricane Ike-shortened season, Gautreaux has 1,100 yards and 16 receiving touchdowns, the most in all-Greater Houston in eight games.
He also runs track for Friendswood, competing in the 200 and 400-meter dash and the long jump.
