Gators, Noles, Tigers lead for top OL

Four-star Crawfordville (Fla.) Wakulla lineman Jim Tartt says he’s taken a bit of a break from the recruiting process in recent weeks.
“I’ve been focused on getting ready for our team’s season, so I really haven’t put much thought into recruiting lately,” he said. “It’s always something that’s on my mind, but not much has changed lately. My top three schools are Florida, Florida State and Clemson. Those are my three offers.”

Tartt (6-4, 310, 5.15), who is rated the No. 13 offensive guard in the nation by Rivals.com, is also being recruited by Alabama, Georgia, Miami and Michigan, among others.
He said Florida and Florida State would likely receive unofficial visits for games early in the season, but he has yet to pick out the dates.
“They all send you the stuff asking you to come to all of the games, so I need to sit down and figure out when I can go” Tartt said.
Known as a devastating run blocker, Tartt boasts a 420 bench press and a squat of more than 500 pounds. He’s also solid in the classroom with a 2.8 GPA and a 17 on the ACT.
Wakulla opens the 2003 season next Friday against North Florida Christian.
