Gators move to top of DEs list

Move over Kansas State, N.C. State and Virginia Tech because the mighty Florida Gators are coming on strong to land one of Florida’s top defensive end products.
Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely three-star defensive end Brandon Daniel took an official visit to Florida this weekend and it looks like it might be his last.

“I was supposed to go to Florida last weekend and then Kansas State this weekend, but there was a conflict last weekend, so I pushed Florida into this weekend’s spot,” Daniel said. “And since I’m supposed to graduate early in the second week of January, I don’t think I’m going to probably take any more visits.”
Daniel said he came away very impressed with Florida and after already visiting Tech and N.C. State it looks like the Gators have moved into the leader’s spot.
“Yeah, you can call them my leader now,” Daniel, who is 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, said. “I really got a long with coach Zook and the people around the campus and in the town were great. That’s what I was most impressed with. They all knew who I was and treated me so nice. It was a great time.”
Daniel said he’s not ready to come up with a final decision yet and he’s not 100 percent sold on the Gators yet. He still has some time during the dead period to think things over.
“I’m going to talk it over with my family over the holiday break,” he said. “I should know what I’m doing in early January.”
