Gators maintain lead on four-star DB

Two more official visit dates have fallen into place for four-star Neptune Beach (Fla.) Fletcher safety Kyle Jackson.
“I’ve had Alabama set for Dec. 12 and I just recently set up Florida for Jan. 9 and Tennessee for Jan. 16,” he said. “I’ll probably end up taking one more, maybe Florida State.”

Anyone hold the lead at this point?
“Florida looks the best right now,” said Jackson, who is a member of the Rivals100 Team and rated the No. 3 safety in the nation. “They’ve always been my favorite college team, and they’re real close to home. Plus, their depth chart is looking real good to me after this year. They’ll be losing a whole lot of DBs. I’ve got a good chance to go play right away.”
He also likes the way the Gators have responded to coach Ron Zook this season after a rough start. They're currently on an impressive five-game winning streak to put themselves in a position to share the SEC East title.
"They've shown me a lot," he said. "They never got down or quit on the coaches
Jackson (6-0, 190, 4.5) said he also liked the opportunity that Alabama and Tennessee have on their depth charts. Florida State is more stocked at his position, but he noted that he feels compelled to at least give the Seminoles a strong look.
As a senior, Jackson has helped lead Fletcher to a 10-1 record and the second round of the playoffs. He’s recorded 106 tackles, six interceptions and three forced fumbles. He’s picked off 15 passes the last two years.
Academically, he carries a 3.1 GPA and has scored a 16 on the ACT, projecting as a full-qualifier.
