Gators, Hogs lead for Tennessee OL

Cordova, Tenn., offensive lineman Darius Myers is a hot commodity among college coaches. He has already picked up two scholarship offers from Division I schools and more appear to be on the horizon.
“Right my only two offers are from Memphis and Arkansas,” Myers said. “I’ve also been hearing a lot from Clemson, Oklahoma State, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.”

The 6-foot-4.5, 315-pound Myers ran a 5.31 second 40-yard dash at the Atlanta NIKE camp. He also ran a 5.62 second shuttle and had a 24-inch vertical jump.
“I grew up a Memphis fan and I am looking at them real hard,” Myers said. “I’m also looking at Arkansas, LSU, Florida, Miami, Clemson, Ole Miss and Michigan. I would say that Arkansas and Clemson are recruiting me the hardest right now. Overall I would probably say that Florida and Arkansas are my leaders.”
Myers is nicknamed “IHOP,” which are the call letters of The International House Of Pancakes, because he makes so many pancake blocks.
“I’m looking for a school that is close to home,” Myers said. “No matter what school you go to you will get a good education. I also would like to play for a school that produces a winning team year in and year out.
I play offensive tackle on my high school team, but most colleges are talking to me about playing guard in college. They say that I have good feet and strong hands, which is what a guard needs. They said that they think I’m fast enough to make the pulls. I am cool with playing guard.”
