It didn’t take the Florida Gators long to jump out of the box with its first commitment for the Class of 2003 and it’s a pledge from one of the better quarterback prospects in the Sunshine State.
Perhaps the best quarterback in Florida this year, Justin Midgett of Punta Gorda (Fla.) Charlotte made his name throwing home run balls to superstar wideout Dishon Platt. Now he’ll be making his name as a Gator.
“This is a dream come true," said Midgett, who threw for 1,600 yards and 18 touchdowns last season for Tarpons. “I consider myself a very intense, pro-style quarterback. I like the tradition and offensive style at Florida.
